Podium Art 2016

Each year we host a competition as part of our commitment to percentage for art. The winner of the annual competition gets to display their artwork on the Podium in front of the hotel.
The winner in 2015 who is currently on display is Lizi Hill with the Mobius strip entitled ‘4π ‘ (4 pi) Lizi was inspired by the mathematical shape of the Mobius Strip, a never ending shape that reflects the world in all directions. Lizi is delighted with her sculpture being placed in St Brelade’s Bay, reflecting all directions of the stunning environment from the sky to sea in front of the hotel. The name of the sculpture was inspired by the measurement of a complete sphere measured in solid angle.
In 2016 we have had a fantastic response and the competition is very strong.
The maquettes are currently on display in our lounge area at St Brelade’s Bay Hotel and the winner will be announced on 30th September 2016.
The winner will receive £2000.00 toward materials and will have six months to create a full scale sculpture which will be unveiled on 31st March 2017.
